Laryngoscope
A laryngoscope is a medical device used to visualize and access the larynx during intubation or other procedures involving the airway. It consists of a handle and a blade. The handle is typically made of a durable material and is designed for easy grip and control. The blade, at the distal end of the handle, is usually curved and has a light source built into it.
During intubation, the laryngoscope is inserted into the patient's mouth and used to lift the tongue and other soft tissues, providing a clear view of the larynx. The light source on the blade illuminates the area, allowing the healthcare professional to visualize the vocal cords and guide the insertion of an endotracheal tube or other airway devices.
Laryngoscopes may have different blade sizes and shapes to accommodate patients of various ages and anatomies. Common blade shapes include Macintosh, Miller, and Wisconsin. The choice of blade depends on the patient's characteristics and the preferences and experience of the healthcare professional.
We offer disposable laryngoscope blades, fiber optic blades and handles, standard laryngoscope series, and laryngoscope kits in both standard and fiber optic. All economically priced, Live Action Safety offers assorted brands for all your airway management needs.
